Friends, family and loved one’s were the main focus at Beaumont and Memre’s “liefdeskarnaval”, which was celebrated at the beginning of this month against the exquisite backdrop of the Elgin valley. Happy families, kids and a beloved spaniel all joined in the festivities held at South Hill, and even a surprise cloud burst directly after their outdoor ceremony didn’t dampen the joyous mood! Looking out at the scene’s in front of me, where men and women in their Sunday best laughed and smiled in the chilly drizzle, I was reminded of a beautiful quote. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”. Isn’t it wonderful to see poetry put into motion in such a way? I think this couple could not have had a better start to the new life together as man and wife … a day symbolic to how they will live their relationship going forwards:)
I would also just like to make a very special mention of my second shooter on this day, Benni Janzen. He and his wife just happened to be in South Africa all the way from Germany on their honeymoon, and I could not have been blessed with a better right hand man, as well as a brand new friend who I will hopefully be visiting in the not too far off future. Benni, thank you so much for everything!!!
