Meeting Dan and Sariska was like being let in on one of life’s best kept secrets. Being able to witness two humans who’s love for one another encompasses all aspects of relationship. Those of romance, of companionship, of life-admin sharing and above all … Being best friends. Despite this being our first meeting, being in their company felt like hanging out with people I had known for years. We chatted so much the photography was almost forgotten (although I must say … HELLO! How photogenic are they??)! We had a coffee and took a drive up Signal Hill in Cape Town to get to know one another a little better before their wedding that coming weekend, and although the weather wasn’t what we’d hoped for, it made for a more magical shoot than I could have planned! The clouds and mist were thick upon Table Mountain, and the wind whipped Sariska’s hair all over the place. Incidentally, this has become one of my favourite weather quirks of the Cape. A good blustery day and a couple who can embrace it, make for such real and beautiful images. I love seeing the grins that appear through a veil of hair that can’t be held down, and the uniqueness of each such image. Dan and Sariska, there is SO much more I could say about you guys, but I’m thinking that perhaps I should leave a little for your wedding blog post too! I will say this though … I’m pretty sure you booked me based on my love for cats and not for my skills as a photographer (which is valid by the way … I’d honestly do the same thing), but I am so truly happy that I got to take these beautiful photographs of you. Humans such as yourselves are a rare and precious find and its been an honour to capture these wonderful moments in your lives. All my love, Claire xxx
