Of all the adjectives that come to mind when describing Garith and Shelley’s wedding (purple, spectacular, original), I’d have to say the most fitting one of all would be “masterpiece”. Or at least that’s how I’ve felt while getting lost in the emotions and magic of editing their special day. The path I’ve walked with these two, that culminated in their delectable March wedding has been nothing short of utterly inspiring. Shelley’s eye for detail (being a very talented photographer herself) and the attention paid by both her and Garith to every aspect of creating this whimsical day is unsurpassed. Their closest friends and family from Johannesburg and further, came together at the magnificent Sante Hotel and Spa close to Franschoek to witness the coming together of two lives that have already walked a very significant path together. The details that they had control over ( a vibrant and royal colour pallet and a very “winelands” cheese cake for the cocktail hour) as well as the ones that they were blessed with as a bonus (like the pink and magenta sunset on the surrounding mountain ranges, softly complimenting their couple shoot) made this one of my most unforgettable and favourite weddings of this season. Garith and Shelley … you’ve inspired and excited me from our first meeting, and then exceeded any expectations I had previously had of your wedding. I hope these pictures will do full justice to this superb day, and be the memory you dreamed of having when you turned your fantasies of this day into a reality. I wish you both every happiness in what has already been a month or so of your life as a married couple, and hopefully many, many vow renewal ceremony’s to come in your future (hey … you can’t blame a girl for wishing she could photograph more days like this!!!).
