As life progresses, I realise more and more how truly lucky I am to have chosen a career that allows me such a unique manner in which to participate in the lives of others. For a long time I’ve been photographing mostly weddings, but as I’ve grown older (in the same way we all have), I’m getting more inquiries for lifestyle shoots, post wedding. Requests like this one from Dylan and Kelly, who were both in high school with me, and who are now expecting their first child together! A beautiful little girl, who is already so loved and has been part of so much joking and joy and delight. Spending an afternoon at Vergelegen in Somerset West with these three had me in stitches from start to finish! I loved seeing how both Dylan and Kelly-Anne were still the same people they always had been, and knowing that their little girl is going to get to know them as the playful, relaxed, easy-going people that they are. In fact … she probably already does! Thank you so much you guys, for asking me to document this incredibly special time in your lives. Thank you for allowing me to be there at the beginning of something so very special and significant. Your daughter has the most wonderful life ahead of her, and with parents like the two of you, I’m guessing a whole lot of fun waiting for her when she arrives! I can’t wait to meet her!
