I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to finally be blogging Matt and Carmens wedding images. The first wedding blogpost of the new season! South African born Carmen, and British Matt travelled to Franschoek with their beautiful little girl and a handful of friends from their home in the UK. The setting they chose could not have been more perfectly suited to a true, Cape winelands experience for their loved ones. La Petite Dauphine is surrounded by purple mountains, green vineyards and offers a local menu to die for! More than once, I heard Carmen mention that the weather on the day itself could not have been more ideal, and that she’s sure their expert wedding coordinator (Cara of The Mosaic Wedding Company), had a secret hand in ordering it to be so! Walking into the respective rooms where the bride and groom were doing their preparations before the ceremony, I was amazed to experience the calm that seemed to radiate from both of them. There was no sense of being overwhelmed, concern for the small details or anxiety over the day ahead. Simply a relaxed excitement at a day they’d been dreaming up for almost a year, and the single desire to be united in marriage in front of their loved one’s. Matt and Carmen, I couldn’t imagine a lovelier couple or day to have started off my new wedding season. Your wedding reminded me in every way of why I love to do what I do, and I wish all three of you nothing but happiness and prosperity in the years to come. I hope you’ll enjoy this little glance back at your special day, and let the excitement overtake you again! All my love, Claire xxx
