Gentle. That’s the single most, all encompassing word I can think of to describe Russell and Joanna. This bride and groom radiate their gentle. To one another. To their beautiful little girl, Eloise. To their family and friends, as well as to every other person they come into contact with. They’re both softly spoken, graceful and refined in their individual manners and oh boy … did their wedding day rise to meet that personality trait in it’s own character! I was fortunate enough to shoot my second wedding amidst the sweeping views at Landscap in Stellenbosch, and to enjoy once again the feeling of utter space on that unassuming little hill! The only element of the day refusing to play along with the otherwise perfectly gentle feelings I spoke of before? Cape Town’s terribly inconsiderate wind! Poor Jo was whisked down the aisle by more than just her dad, I’ll tell you! But as you can see from all the smiling faces and laughter in this precious set of images, Russell and Jo’s wedding was perfect, because it was theirs. The happy occasion their families had been waiting for, and the chance to celebrate this next chapter in what has already been a love story of epic proportions! The sun smiled down, and the soft greens and white’s melted in and out of the background of mountains and vineyards. The wind served only to lift everyone a little higher than what they already felt that day. A task I wouldn’t have thought possible! Russ and Jo, I hope you’ll enjoy remembering these moments while looking through your pictures. If I could, I’d do it all again with you in a heartbeat. Thank you for inviting me into this beautiful, beautiful day with you. All my love, Claire xxx
