The 23rd of December 2016. That one day around Christmas time, that Cape Town pretended it was July and the heavens opened up to give us one of the windiest, rainiest days I’ve experienced in quite some time! It also happens to have been the date of Simon and Samantha’s elegant and refined garden wedding, held at the home of Simon’s grandparents in Contstantia. So let me tell you this – when your hearts are full and your minds are open, you can make plan B look and feel like plan A. This darling couple never took a moment to be upset about rain on their wedding day, and instead busied themselves with the excitement of which other surprises it now held. I even heard Sam laughingly mention that the style of the train on her dress is whats called a “puddle”! And puddles there were in abundance this day, but inside the warm, inviting marquee in that perfect garden, was all the elegance, style and charm you could imagine. Fairy lights appeared blurred by the rain on the other side of the window, and love, family and a very proud dad walking his gorgeous daughter down the aisle silenced the sound of the wind outside. This wedding was truly, a memory that I will cherish forever. A very special word of thanks too, to the team that made this beautiful event possible – each and every wedding supplier (please find a complete list at the bottom of this post) vaulted all previous bars set by their peers to make this day as unforgettable as it was. You’re all rockstars in my eyes, and I’m pretty sure in the eyes of the Alexander and Moller families too! Si and Sam, I hope you’ll enjoy this look back onto the magnificent day that we all shared together a few months back. You two are more lovely, inside and out, than can be said in words and it was a joy and a privielge to be a part of your most special day. All my love, Claire xxx
