Every time I write about the little families that I photograph, I feel as though I couldn’t possibly love photographing any other family more than I do them. And then I meet another family, and all their special jokes and sweet habits and adorable ways draw me in, and I fall head over heels all over again! So now I’m thinking … maybe I love photographing all new families so much, because every single one of them is uniquely delightful. Each one is allowing me into their personal space to share in their memories of special milestones and life stages with them. I get to experience a day in their lives, and meet tiny humans who are simply bursting with potential and promise. The Hunters, be still my beating heart, gave me the privilege of experiencing all of these thing with them. Baby Ella was a mere fifteen days old, and James (who is also my new best friend by the way) was being a big brother for the first time! Honestly, this day with Luke, Abby and their brood was more play and less work than any other job could be! I loved watching mom and dad parent their kids – I noticed them saying and doing so many things that I wouldn’t have thought to, and exchanging quiet looks to check in with one another before explaining things to James. What I really took away from this, was what a team they are! Abby and Luke, putting their full and undivided attention into being great parents, the affection between all of them every minute, and the excitement of a new little girl in the house to complete the set. You guys melted my heart with all your antics and sweetness, and I cannot think of a lovelier way to have spent a Thursday morning. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me into this time in your lives and for being the gentle, loving people you are. Sending such love to you all, Claire xxx
