I can’t think when last I photographed a wedding that was so jam packed with intimate details as what this one was! A lunchtime garden party, nestled between the awe inspiring mountains and vineyards of Helshoogde Pass. If there was one word to describe Thomas and Elaine’s special, it would be “family”. To begin with, this lovely couple where wed on Thomas’ family farm, Thelema Mountain Vineyards, where they not only live, but where he is also the wine maker. The beautiful bride Elaine, made the ultimate statement in sentimentality, and wore her mothers wedding dress as her own. Friends, family and pets of all ages laughed and enjoyed great food and wine in but a few of the many glorious locations on Thelema. I think it’s safe to say, that Thomas and Elaine’s big day was exactly what they had wanted! From the photographers point of view, I was tempted to weep at the amount of effort put into details, and in addition … the perfection in all the unplanned details too. A canary diamond (taken from a brooch of Tom’s grandmother) sparkling on Elaines delicate hand, the tree’s gently muting their greens to fit the yellow and grey theme better, a pup in the fountain during the ceremony, and a couple more stable and comfortably in love than anyone could hope for. In my eyes, they could not have hoped for a more perfect occasion! Tom and Elaine, you guys nailed it! Your day was an inspiration and a blessing, and more than anything, a thrill to be a part of. I hope you’ll enjoy this taste of your collection of memories before receiving them all. All my love (and sadness that I can’t shoot this day again and again), Claire xxx
