To quote my uncle, “nothing succeeds like excess”. And today, I’m thrilled to be treating you to an excessively long blog post filled with but a few of the images from John and Kate’s excessively beautiful wedding! Set in the abundant gardens of Stellenbosch’s Muldersvlei Estate, John took Kate as his wife. Flowers teamed from every visible corner and their guests were spoilt with what I’m sure was a most memorable day for all! I’d be lying if I said I had the words to explain what a treat their wedding was to photograph. Every detail was planned and executed to perfection, and the radiant couple and their loved ones dotted the already colourful landscape with a vivid joy! When I think back to this Saturday last December, I realise how many of the small details of their wedding felt like big ones. Everyone drinking champagne and superb coffee (supplied by the bride who co-owns Tribe Coffee in Cape Town) and feasting on pretty cakes displayed on the Estate’s rustic bird baths. The gardens that made any additional decoration almost unnecessary. The enthusiasm of every member of their bridal party, who all put every ounce of their energy into making this day memorable for the couple. I’ve recalled these things time and again as I edited John and Kate’s images, and oh, how I hope they can capture even a fraction of the magic I experienced in being there. Dearest John and Kate, you’ve been so patient in waiting to see your photographs and I sincerely hope this blog post will make the wait have seemed worth the while. Sending you both an overflow of affection … thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day. All my love, Claire xxx
