In my brief time getting to know Mickey and Carolina, I learnt that if anything defines this couple, it’s their unending, unwavering ability to laugh and smile through absolutely anything! This special couple, the relaxed and adventurous spirits that they are, met in Mozambique where they both work. Mickey is originally from South Africa, and Carolina from the USA, but their table settings and stationary reflected their love of their new home abroad. The one the share:) Their intimate group of family and friends gathered on a drizzly day at Yzerfontein’s Strankombuis to witness the wedding they’d all been waiting for. An incredibly spontaneous Carolina did something I’m yet to see a bride do (take note ladies!!). When walking down the aisle on her dads arm, she was so overcome with excitement that she leapt forward and ran straight to her adoring groom, and into his arms. Not ten minutes later, the tide came in and threatened to flood the reception area. But, as became customary at this gathering, everyone (under the watch of a very savvy officiant) just laughed and smiled before leaping up and shifted things around so the couple could finish saying their I do’s! This is the first wedding I’ve attended at Strankombuis in over five years, and it held up to every happy memory and moment I’ve spent here! Under the guidance of Schimoney from Lavishly Done, and with so many lovable and genuine people in the mix, how could this day have been anything other than a perfect memory? Mickey and Carolina, I’m sure you’re home and looking forward to remembering all the smiling faces and moments from your wonderful celebration. I hope you’ll enjoy reliving them here, and be reminded of your precious moments for many many years to come! All my love and a hug to each of you, Claire xxx
