September first is known in South Africa, as Spring day (which actually usually brings more rain than blossoms, but lets go with it …). On this particular one though, I drove into the heart of the Elgin Valley, surrounded by sunshine and excited to be shooting my first celebration for the new summer season! More than that though, this wedding day was a particularly significant one, as Rian and Danielle were in fact celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary. These two were in actually legally married before moving to the U.K. together a little while ago, but vowed to have a “real” celebration with their loved ones at some point in the future. This day? Was it! Somehow hearing them exchange vows held a different significance, knowing that they had already lived out the many things they promised to one another. Things they’ve already successfully upheld for years. Besides the beauty of their relationship however … oh boy! Was this a gorgeous party! The setting and views from the venue are sublime, the relaxed, lounge style setup of the reception, allowing guests to sit comfortably wherever they wished. Guests, family and loved ones of every kind, sharing sentimental words or jokes. This day was perfection, and I consider myself so lucky to have been a part of it, dear Rian and Dani. Thank you a million times over for having me there and for going along with all the hill climbing during your couple shoot … I’m sure you’ll agree when you see these pictures, that the workout was worth it! I’m so happy to share your wedding blog with you today. All my love, Claire xxx
