It may already be more than a year after the fact, but my memory of time spent with my two dear friends Tanya Kibogo and Catherine Mac in Amsterdam is as fresh as though it was yesterday. Being overwhelmed with work hasn’t allowed me to edit this dreamy portrait session I did with the lovely Tanja until now, but boy! Isn’t it just a joy to have been able to relive this adventure today! Tanja, is an extremely talented photographer, based Germany. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her for a few years now through our shared profession, and spent many a sunny day in her sparkling company across South Africa and Europe. One late afternoon on short trip to Amsterdam, we decided to take turns being on the other end of a camera for a change! We’re so used to being hidden behind a lens that it was definitely not the most comfortable experience for either of us (surprisingly … photographers don’t get photographed too often, haha!), but gaining an insight into what we ask from our many clients was most certainly an experience worth having! Added bonus? We both got some pretty shots of ourselves to use for marketing! A winning scenario if there ever was one! Beautiful Tanja, I wish we lived closer to one another so we could have more days together like this. Your friendship is a precious gift, and your work is an inspiration to me.
