I feel like I’m about to launch into a serenade on the passage of time, so buckle on up people! I’ve known the Colenbrander family my entire life. Tony and my Dad worked together since before I was born, and I remember many a playdate (including mix-a-drink in a plastic cup) with our moms and the girls. While we were still in primary school, the family immigrated to Australia, where all of them (except Dani) still live. The girls and I keep up with one anothers lives through Facebook, but the chance to see them all in person again was thrilling! Anne contacted me a while back to ask if I had time to do a family session at Boschendal Estate while they were all together on holiday (Robert and Matthew, Dani and Anne’s significant others joined us), and there was no way I was saying no to an afternoon spent with them! Seeing them all together, and just as playful and close as ever, was an enormous joy to behold. And these ladies! Don’t they look like they’re modelling for the H&M summer catalogue or something? I love the fact that my job has become a means for reconnecting with so many people who I may have otherwise lost along the way. Dearest Tony, Margaret, Dani, Anne, and Kristin, it was an honour to make some new memories with all of you, and to see how you’ve grown and evolved as a family. Rob and Matt, you guys were such fun! Thank you for all the laughter and smiles you facilitated for the family, and for being up for the kind of photos most guys dread. You’re both wonderful additions to the Colenbrander gang – your special matches theirs;) All my love, Claire xxx
