One of the best ways to be in the December holiday spirit , I’ve discovered, is to spend time outside of your bubble and go experience someone else’s holiday. This is precisely what my sister and I did when we spent an afternoon with the Patel family at Solms Delta in Franschoek. Radiant and relaxed in their summer getaway surrounds, the Patel’s could not have been lovelier to chat to, laugh with and photograph against a backdrop of mountains and vineyards. The three mini-Patel’s kept us laughing with their antics, and I came away, feeling as I often do, that I quite possibly have the best job known to man. A job that feels like it’s too fulfilling to qualify as work. Thank you so much Hima for inviting us to spend this time with you. Johannesburg is lucky to have your bubbly and warm natures in its midst, and I hope these pictures bring a little bit of beautiful Cape Town back to all of you as a reminder of your holiday.
