Oh heavenly job of mine! I shot a second wedding in two consecutive weeks at the lovely Gabrielskloof venue in Botrivier. The two however, could not have been more different and I was reminded yet again of how much personality and individual attention couples radiate into their wedding days. Werner and Deanne have a very special and unique love story, and indeed very special and unique idea’s too! They met one another on a skiing holiday in Switzerland … many miles away from Deanne’s home in Canada and Werner’s in South Africa, and they’ve slowly and surely been working over the years to bring their lives together in Cape Town. On this overcast Saturday, I shared their second wedding reception with them (the first having taken place in Canada a month before), and I was so moved to watch Werner and his sister help Deanne back into the dress that she’s had flown around the world to wear once for her family, and again for his. Being the second celebration however, they had a slightly more informal and quirky time of things, and Deanne included details in both her attire and their decor of her absolute favourite theme … good old American halloween! Prepare to enjoy something different folks, and make sure to take note of the dancing skeletons on her bouquets ribbon;) All my love, Claire xxx
